The curriculum offered for Grades 8, 9 and 10, includes a variety of courses for learners with a wide range of abilities and interests, including those whose first language is not English. Our course offering is centred around eight groups of subjects, designed to encourage our students to engage with a variety of topics, with an emphasis on interdisciplinarity, research and inquiry – to learn how they all fit together.

Campus Life at International School Altdorf
At International School Altdorf, students are instilled with a sense of responsibility, even in extracurricular activities.
Our students have access to a range of extracurricular resources on campus. A student-run animal shelter and many sporting facilities (tennis, volleyball, football, basketball, swimming, badminton and table tennis) as well as a music and dance room. Our school is located at the base of the Swiss Alps and the beach of Lake Lucerne, so outdoor activities are part of everyday life. Students participate in the many clubs we already offer and can create new clubs.
We believe extracurricular activities are an essential part of students’ education and personal development. We encourage students to actively participate and challenge themselves outside of the classroom!

There are currently 80 boarding school students enrolled coming from over 40 nationalities.
Class size depends on the popularity of the course. Some classes have as few as five students, but no class has more than 20 students.Â
